What to Expect: Rain, Debris and Further Rainfall from SMHI

by time news

There have been pleasant temperatures and some sun in many places in Svealand on Thursday, but soon there will be other storms as a rain area moves from Götaland northward through Svealand and the Stockholm area, warns Christopher Greenland, a meteorologist at SMHI. The rain will continue towards northern Sweden, possibly turning into snow in some places. Another low pressure will move in over southern Sweden on Friday, affecting Götaland and then moving towards Svealand, Dalarna, and southernmost Norrland. Large parts of Svealand, Götaland, and Dalarna could experience precipitation on Saturday, as well as windy conditions in some areas. SMHI has issued a yellow warning for gales over the Kattegat, the Belts, and up to and including the central Baltic Sea on Friday, which applies to the central and south-eastern Baltic Sea on Saturday. As for the temperature, southern Sweden will experience some plus degrees at the beginning of the weekend, but it will be colder towards Sunday and the beginning of next week, with Svealand having minus degrees during the day. SMHI has three levels of weather warnings: yellow, orange, and red alert, indicating consequences for society and varying levels of danger to the public. Christopher Greenland suggests that those waiting for warmer temperatures and spring weather may have to wait a little longer.
