Studying is not all that school can offer a child! You can also find friends there, play pranks during recess, invent different games, get inspired, fall in love… By reading funny stories about their peers, children will not only have fun, but also understand themselves better. All these books are waiting for readers in the Narva Central Library

Fabrice Parme “Little restless Astrid”
Little restless Astrid loves adventures. She is interested in everything around her, except, perhaps, boring adult activities. Therefore, when something unusual happens, she immediately sets out to find out the details. Whether you need to catch a tooth mouse in a huge castle or a couple of ghosts in a private school, Astrid always has a plan! But the problem is that no one wants to keep her company: her parents are always busy, the cat Gatsby is too lazy, the dog Fitzgerald is too annoying, and the butler and housekeeper are terribly boring… Oh well! Astrid knows how to create an incredible adventure for everyone, even if they don’t really want it! After all, no one can resist Astrid’s incredibly cunning plans, amazing ingenuity and business acumen!

Timo Parvela “Ella, Pat and Second Grade”
A new book about Ella’s adventures will make you laugh until you cry. Ella has already entered second grade, and with her are her friends: Pat, Tukka, Hannah… and, of course, the teacher! This year they have a new classmate – a real alien. And Ella and Pat went to a very strange Olympics. But the most amazing events happened when the teacher organized a night school!

Marcus Emerson Diary of a Sixth-Grade Ninja. Rise of the Red Ninjas”
My name is Chase Cooper and this is my third diary. A month has passed since my last posts, and so far everything has been pretty quiet… It all started when some guy in a red hoodie stole my school backpack. The events that followed turned this week into a nightmare: first, someone posted my secret love note throughout the school, and I became the butt of many stupid jokes; then I ended up on the school’s most wanted bully list; I also learned that a new clan had appeared – the clan of red ninjas. But as much as I want to give in, I know that true ninjas never give up… unfortunately, neither do their enemies!

Moni Nilsson-Bränström “Tzatziki Goes to School”
And the book about Tsatsiki is a real adventure that you want to experience again with the main characters.
A fascinating and instructive story about a boy, Tsatsiki, who went to school, where he met his first friend, his first love, and his first enemy. Adventures at school receive an unexpected continuation at Tsatsiki’s home, because he has the most incredible mother in the world, who can walk on her hands while wiggling her toes, and can burst into the school principal’s office if she gets very angry.
This is a children’s and at the same time non-children’s book about empathy, tolerance and growing up of children and their parents.

Luciano Malmusi “Neanderthal boy at school and at home. First call”
In the distant times of the last Ice Age, children also went to school. They needed to learn many very important subjects: hunting, fishing, picking mushrooms and berries, magic drawing. But young Neanderthals were especially diligent in physical education. Pet the bear, pick up a stone, run away from the tiger – although the games are funny, they are very, very dangerous.

Love is a carrot
Before publishing this book, the publishing house debated for a long time: to which reader should it be addressed and what to write in the imprint? For middle and high school age? For children not younger than… years?
Finally, the editor-in-chief slammed his fist on the table and ordered an emergency meeting. When the employees gathered in the office and sat down on chairs, the editor-in-chief, putting on his glasses, looked sternly at those present and said with metal in his voice:
– There is one question on the agenda: when in your life did you first experience a bright feeling of love? Answer only the truth, as best you can! …
And, of course, it turned out that everyone present at the meeting had their first love in childhood. Because children are little adults, and they also fall in love, make plans for the future and suffer from unrequited love. In addition, children so often interfere in the romantic relationships of adults!
The classics of children’s literature – Anton Chekhov, Nadezhda Teffi and Arkady Averchenko – talk about what comes out of this with humor.
