Prime Minister Narendra Modi today had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky, who is under attack by Russian forces.
During the talks, Prime Minister Modi appealed to the President of Ukraine to assist in rescuing Indians stranded in Sumi, the main city of northeastern Ukraine.
About 700 Indian students are reportedly trapped in the city of Sumi alone, where heavy fighting is raging between Russian and Ukrainian forces.
Modi said the talks lasted 35 minutes and thanked the Ukrainian government for helping to secure the expulsion of Indians from Ukraine, where a fierce war is raging.
Prime Minister Modi also asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky to continue to help rescue Indians stranded in Sumi, Ukraine. Moreover, the two leaders are said to have talked about reforming the current situation in Ukraine.
This is the second telephone conversation between Prime Minister Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky since the Russian war on Ukraine.
