Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that what Washington spends on military and defense expenses is ten times what Moscow spends.

Putin said during his meeting with military pilots in the city of Torzhok: “The United States spends about 40% of the total global expenditures on the defense sector on defense needs, and Russia 3.5%.”

Putin noted, “According to data from the Stockholm Peace Research Institute, the United States spent 3.5% of its gross domestic product on defense in 2022, while Russia spent 4%, Israel 4.5%, and Ukraine 33.5%.”

He added: “In 2022, the United States spent $811 billion and Russia spent $72 billion,” adding: “The difference is tangible, and it is more than ten times.”

On the other hand, Putin stressed that “Russia does not have unfriendly countries, but rather there are unfriendly elites in these countries.”

“Although we do not have unfriendly countries, we have unfriendly elites in these countries,” Putin said at a meeting with cultural workers in the Tver province.

Separately, the Russian Emergencies Ministry published a new list of names of those killed in the “Crocus” attack, showing the death toll rising to 143 dead.
