What will happen to Greenberg: a confrontation between the mayor and the CEO will be held in LB 433

by time news

At the National Fraud Investigations Unit (NAU) in Blade 433, they continue to call witnesses in the case of Petah Tikva Mayor Rami Greenberg. Tomorrow (Wednesday), the unit’s investigators plan to have a dramatic confrontation between Greenberg and another detainee, the municipality’s CEO Yaniv Benita.

Among the main issues expected in the confrontation, confirmation or refutation of the version of the mayor who claims that Benita was responsible for the finances at the election headquarters – and he knows nothing about it. Benita, on the other hand, claims that everything was legal.

The police are currently investigating a suspicion that sources known to the investigators were behind a loan that was allegedly transferred to Greenberg’s election headquarters, and it was allegedly covered using the funds received from the election committee after winning the mayorship.

As mentioned, the mayor denied in his investigation any connection to criminal elements and put the responsibility on the director general of the municipality. The investigators want to examine the discrepancies in the versions tomorrow in a confrontation.

Also, the BIA intends to hold confrontations with additional suspects to test the versions they gave against the evidence collected during the undercover investigation.

In recent days, key figures in the municipality and the city have been summoned to Yaha, some for investigation purposes and some to testify in the case.

On Thursday all the suspects will probably be released to house arrest and the big question will be what will happen to Mayor Rami Greenberg.
