Opposite the new town of Almere, just half an hour from Amsterdam, on the edge of an artificial lake, stands the imposing site of the Floriade on 60 hectares. This new edition of one of the largest international horticultural exhibitions, which takes place once every ten years, is placed under the sign of sustainable cities.

After six months of exhibition, the site, designed by the architectural firm MVRDV, will also be transformed into a green district, called Hortus, with its school and its arboretum, which will accommodate housing.
