In the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, solar panels with a total capacity of over 2000 kW have been installed in more than 300 private residential, public and social buildings to date, and this process will continue in accordance with the settlement plans.
Head of the Project Management Department of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan Jabrail Aliyev told Trend about this, Day.Az reports.
“In each of the 233 private houses in the village of Zabukh, 59 private houses in the village of Sus, solar panels with a capacity of 3.3 kW have been installed, in each of the 24 private houses in the village of Lachin – with a capacity of 3-5 kW, in the Conference Center in the Zangilan district – with a capacity of 166 kW, in the buildings of schools in Fizuli, Lachin districts, the village of Zabukh and in Shusha – 20-40 kW, in the administrative buildings of the village of Agaly in the Zangilan district – with a total capacity of 325 kW. With the direct initiative and decision of the President of Azerbaijan, the territories liberated from the occupation have been declared a “green energy” zone, and the corresponding “green” concept is currently being applied in these territories.
Using the high potential of renewable energy sources existing in the territories liberated from occupation and providing the territories with environmentally friendly energy is one of the main goals of the concept. According to the requirements of the concept, the use of “green” technologies, including solar panels in private homes and public buildings, must be ensured during settlement.
“The production of electricity from renewable energy sources, energy efficiency measures, the use of electric vehicles, the installation of renewable energy equipment (in particular solar panels) on the roofs of buildings, as well as the use of solar-powered LED lamps for street and road lighting, and the introduction of intelligent energy management technologies are some of the main factors taken into account when designing towns and villages,” he noted.
