Reports on the DownDetector site exploded just before 8 p.m. According to our tests, the outage affects many countries, including France and the United States. The app loads well on a smartphone, but the messages sent remain blocked. The web version is currently unavailable and displays this error message: “We are having trouble connecting to WhatsApp. Try it in a few minutes. »
Some users are also reporting issues on the Instagram feed, but not everyone seems to be affected. In 2021, the entire Meta galaxy suffered a giant outage lasting almost six hours after an internal switching problem. In 2022 and 2023, WhatsApp experienced a few hiccups but which never lasted more than two hours.
