And screenshots published by various technical sites show that “WhatsApp” will call the secondary device the “companion phone.”
The reports included screenshots from the beta version of the “WhatsApp” application for Android – which has the number “2.22.10.13” – showing the interface while opening the application on a secondary mobile device.
The screenshot includes a “Register Device as Companion” section, which gives users a glimpse of what the feature might look like when it is deployed.
To take advantage of the new feature, the user will first have to “register a device as a companion”, after which the WhatsApp application will allow the user to access one account on a different phone by scanning the QR code using their primary smartphone.
The platform already has a multi-device feature, but it only allows people to use the app on desktop computers and not on other mobile phones. The feature is currently under development, and it is currently unknown when this feature will reach the stable version of the app, according to reports.
And last month, “WhatsApp” announced multi-device support for all users, as this allows “Android” and “iPhone” users to open their WhatsApp accounts on different desktop devices to send and receive messages on the application simultaneously, even when it is not Their phones have an active internet connection.
