WhatsApp will allow you to silence noisy users in group conversations

The WhatsApp chat apps are launching a number of innovations, which are already available in the beta version and are expected to reach all users soon.

First, an upgrade is required for WhatsApp group voice calls, which will allow – like other software used for video calls – mute users, or send a private message that only they can see during the call. In addition, when a user joins a group conversation that has already begun, a large and clear message will appear at the bottom of the screen.

All of these are quite natural additions in light of the expansion of the maximum number of users in the group voice call to 32, while recently also expanding the number of users in general groups to 512 participants. So far, in conversations joined by many users, it has been easy to get into a state of unbearable noise and clutter, problems that will now be easier to control.

In addition, from now on, WhatsApp will allow all users to set up a “blacklist” of group members who will not be able to see their status in real time, the profile picture or information about the user. Until now, you could choose to show this information to everyone, hide it from everyone, or show it only to contacts. Now, as mentioned, another option is added: to show everyone except a defined list of unwanted contacts.

These innovations join another improvement the company announced this week, support for transferring call history when switching from Android devices to iOS. The company launched a similar tool for iPhone users switching to Android devices as early as last year, and this week as mentioned completed the image with a tool that allows transition in the opposite direction as well.
