WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) tests A new feature that allows users to switch between multiple accounts on the same device. The feature is currently in beta for Android, and it’s currently unknown when it will be released to the stable version on iOS.
Previously, WhatsApp users had to do extra steps like cloning to be able to run multiple accounts on the same device. You can change your account on the special tab “Profile”. The function will be especially useful for owners of smartphones with two SIM cards. In the “Profile” it will also be possible to edit and view information about the user’s account, as well as adjust general settings.
In April 2023, WhatsApp released an update that allowed the same account to be used on multiple phones. In July, the messenger introduced a new feature that allows you to transfer chats from one device to another using QR codes.
