WhatsApp announced that he will make a couple of changes in his next updatewhich will enter into operations in April 11.
These changes in WhatsApp have to do with the interconnectivity of the application, as well as the users who can access it.
However, there are certain doubts about its application, since it is not clear what it will be like or if it will really affect users in Mexico.

What changes will come to WhatsApp?
Los changes that will be done in WhatsApp are the following:
- Interoperability: Which will allow users to interact with other messaging applications similar to Meta’s, calls and messages can be sent and received between the different services
- Age of use: WhatsApp will allow minors under 13 years of age to use the application, as long as they have the supervision of parents or guardians
As already mentioned, these changes will be applied to WhatsApp from April 11, 2024both in the version of Android as in that of iOS.
The modifications are not optional, all users will receive them automatically on their phones.

Do WhatsApp changes affect users in Mexico?
Something that we must clarify is that the changes in WhatsApp will not affect users in Mexicosince they are only programmed for people in the European Union.
This is because these changes in WhatsApp are ordered by the same authorities of Europa if Meta wants to continue operating in said territory.
In other words, although the service will be updated around the world during this month of April, in Mexico there will be no age restriction or interplatform options.
It is not known if in the future Meta will decide to apply these WhatsApp parameters worldwide, but at the moment there is nothing planned in that regard.
