WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to view the profile picture of other members within a group chatnext to the messages sent by these contacts.
Currently, only the messages sent by each contact appear in group chats, with the name under which it has been saved on the device or on the SIM card at the top.
If you don’t have them previously saved, the phone numbers with the regional prefix will appear first (for example, +34 in the case of Spain). Also, in both cases, the contacts are differentiated by random colors.
Now the messaging platform works on a new display format for contacts in group chats, in which the user’s name is displayed, as well as their profile picture next to the sent message.
This has been discovered by the specialized portal WABetaInfo in a new update sent through the TestFlight beta program in version 22.18.0.72 for the iOS operating system.
This portal has clarified that, as is the case with the reaction preview, there is no way to deactivate this function, since it is always enabled by default for all the participants of a group char.
This feature is under development, so The specific moment in which WhatsApp will launch it officially is unknown for all users of the platform. Nor is it known if it will be available for Android, although everything indicates that, when the time comes, it will be.
