When asked about running for Mayor of Bekasi City in 2024, Tri Adhianto: It depends on Mrs. Megawati

BEKASI – Acting Mayor of Bekasi Tri Adhianto is still reluctant to declare himself to run as a candidate Mayor of Bekasi in the upcoming 2024 elections. Whether he advances or not depends on the orders of the general chairman of the PDI Perjuangan Megawati Sukarnoputri.

Tri was reluctant to say the reason for disclosing whether to run or not because he respected the National Conference which was carried out structurally by the PDIP Perjuangan Party. This is because no presidential candidate, governor or regional head is allowed to self-plot.

“Nothing is allowed in the structure of the PDI Perjuangan Party. Until today, starting from the President, Governors, Heads of any Region, I think that only the general chairman has the prerogative according to the mandate of the National Conference at the time of the Congress,” said Tri.

As politicians from PDIP, all cadres are only focused on working and being present in the community. Moreover, Tri, who currently serves as Regional Head, must also prove that he is working with the people by reviving the economy.

Even so, Tri admitted that he was ready if there was an order to run in the 2024 Pilkada in Bekasi City. “If it’s called an order, no one is unprepared. Because we are a party of fighters, if we have orders, we must be ready,” he concluded.

Tri Adhianto was officially appointed as Acting Mayor of Bekasi on Friday (7/1/2022). Tri’s appointment as Acting Task Force follows the arrest of Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi for alleged corruption in 2022.
