When buying something through Instagram, don’t forget about scammers. And then share the unenviable fate

by time news

Instagram has become an extremely popular place to do business. Both small artisans and large online stores trade there, and you can buy a lot – from shoes and clothes to car tires and spare parts. And this is used by both conscientious citizens and scammers. The former, of course, become the goal of the latter.

Thus, an 18-year-old woman from Brest accidentally stumbled on the profile of an online store on Instagram, which offered a wide selection of clothes. The girl decided to replenish her wardrobe, chose the model she liked and contacted the “seller”. He threw the girl an account for payment in the amount of more than 75 rubles. The Brest woman transferred the money, but neither the goods nor any response from the “seller” was received. Realizing that she had become a victim of scammers, the girl turned to the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs with a statement.

A 31-year-old resident of the Pinsk region found herself in a similar situation. She decided to buy several pairs of shoes for herself. The “seller” demanded an advance payment, after which the woman should have been sent a track code to track the goods. And after that it was necessary to transfer the second part of the amount. The buyer transferred the first part of the money, but after that she did not receive the track code. And after some disputes and claims, she still credited the second part of the amount. As a result, I lost more than 340 Belarusian rubles and shoes, of course, did not wait.

A 25-year-old Brest resident also got into an unpleasant story, who wanted to buy car tires. The guy found an online store with attractive prices and wrote to the seller. He was offered a discount, but in order to receive it, he was asked to enter an advance payment. The Brest resident transferred it, but did not receive the goods. As a result of a thoughtless act, he lost 380 Belarusian rubles.

On all facts criminal cases are raised. Currently, police officers are working to identify persons who may be involved in the commission of these crimes.
