The summer rate is a support so that families in the states do not pay high amounts on electricity bills during the hottest months.

In at least 20 entities there were discounts by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), but it only applies for six months.

For this reason, October 31 is the date on which this special rate ends, which began on May 1.

The benefited entities are where temperatures exceed 30 degrees and make use of air conditioning to cool off.

This special rate will still last two months to pay less in the price of electricity and not be affected by the constant use of refrigerators and fans.

Where does the CFE summer rate apply?

The summer rate does not apply to the entire country, but to some selected regions due to extreme temperatures.

Among them are Baja California, Baja California Sur, the northwest, north and northeast; the south of the country, the central region and the Yucatan Peninsula.

Some of the benefited cities are: Acapulco, Campeche, Cancun, Ciudad Acuña, Chetumal, Coatzacoalcos, Iguala, Mérida, Monclova, Monterrey, San Andrés Tuxtla, Tampico, Tehuantepec, among others.

What are the special rates of the CFE?

The summer rate has different categories that are based on the high temperatures that reach the states and are the following:

Rate 1A: Domestic service for locations with an average temperature of 25 degrees in summer.

Rate 1B: Domestic service for locations with an average temperature of 28 degrees in summer.

Rate 1C: Domestic service for locations with an average temperature of 30 degrees in summer.

Rate 1D: Domestic service for locations with an average temperature of 31 degrees in summer.

Rate 1E: Domestic service for locations with an average temperature of 32 degrees in summer.

Rate 1F: Domestic service for locations with an average temperature of 33 degrees in summer.
