In order to reduce the traffic congestion in Chennai, the construction of new suburban bus stations and the construction of metro rail services are being carried out. Accordingly, a new bus stand is being constructed at Klambach to avoid the crowding of passengers at Koyambedu bus stand. 393.74 crore has been allocated for this purpose. Although the work has been delayed due to Corona, the work is currently being carried out at a fast pace.
In this case, while it was announced that Klampakkam bus station will be functional on Diwali festival, as the festival of Diwali is approaching, so far no announcement has been made regarding the opening of Klampakkam bus station. When the public raises questions in this regard, it is said that 90% of the work has been completed. Due to this, it is said that the work will be completed by the end of December anyway.
After this, it was said that if the bus station comes into use, more buses will be run to the southern districts. It has also been announced that bus services will be started from various parts of Chennai to easily reach Clambakkam bus stand. It has also been decided to extend the metro rail service up to Clambakkam to facilitate the movement of people.
