Accompanying the arrival of good weather, the month of May will be ideal for lovers of astronomical events in our country. In fact, the next May 16Spain will be able to contemplate with total clarity the first lunar eclipse of 2022.
This will not be, however, a normal eclipse. In fact, during it the phenomenon will occur ‘blood Moon’which will cause the satellite to appear red from Earth.
What is a lunar eclipse?

For its part, the total eclipse will begin around 5:29 a.m. and will come to an end around 6:54 a.m., although it can be seen in all its splendor at 6:11 a.m.
Where can the eclipse be seen?
The lunar eclipse of next May 16 can be seen completely throughout Spain. Nevertheless, In the northeast of the peninsula, including the Balearic Islands and Catalonia, the eclipse will not be able to be seen completely. In fact, you will only be able to see the partial eclipse and the peak moment of the eclipse, but not the end, since the Moon will set around 6:39 a.m.
To enjoy this astronomical event, aside from the weather –for the moment it indicates that on Monday, May 16 there will be a predominance of clouds–, it will be necessary to look for open and clear areas without light pollution. This is due to the low position of the Moon, for which sites such as penthouses, beaches or mountain areas will be ideal.
