Kallakurichi-Kallakurichi new PTO, office construction work is missing even after many days. The PTO office is functioning opposite the market committee on Kachirayapalayam road, Kallakurichi. 46 Panchayats are functioning under this office which is operating in an old building of more than 60 years. More than 60 people including two Regional Development Officers and Deputy Regional Development Officers are working. As this very old office operates during the rainy season, the employees were in trouble as there was no space suitable for the number of employees. To build a new building for the office of Kallakurichi Union, 2.86 crore rupees was allocated under the integrated package fund plan of the financial year 2019-20 and the construction work started last year 2020. Chairman’s Office, Engineer Division, The new building including meeting hall, office and ground floor and first floor has been completed and the opening ceremony is still missing even after many days. Employees and public have demanded that the opening ceremony of the new PTO office building should be held soon.
