On the second stop of his tour of the Maule Region, President Boric led the inauguration of the new Curicó hospital. A highly complex healthcare facility that will benefit more than 288 thousand residents of the province of the same name.

The new community hospital, which It meant an investment of 231 billion pesos, It brings with it great advances in terms of infrastructure and technology. With an area of ​​more than 100 thousand square meters, it has 7 floors high, two underground levels, 17 dialysis chairs, 9 emergency boxes, an emergency service of 2,670 square meters, surgical pavilions, 5 comprehensive delivery rooms, 13 dental chairs, 16 procedure rooms, 800 parking spaces and a heliport for highly complex transfers.

It will also have 400 beds, of which 54 will be for the care of critical patients and 21 for psychiatric hospitalization.

“This fills me with pride, because it is the demand for public health”assured the President.

For her part, the Minister of Health, Ximena Aguilera, stated that “we are very happy for the quality of the establishment, for the pride shown by the officials, the satisfaction of the patients and for what we have done as a health system based on the public sector, Primary Care and Secondary Care”.

The new Curicó hospital will also have clinical, logistical and administrative support services for the operation of the establishment and a nursery with a capacity for 44 girls and boys. In addition, the staff strength will increase from 973 to 2,412 officials.
