PAlmost 7,000 kilometers on the bike, 55 days of travel and an experience almost as memorable as his stay there. This is the report on the trip made in 2021 by Cédric Leclercq to go to Aalto in Finland, where he was to complete his university exchange semester. A decision taken a year earlier, after realizing the impact of a round trip by plane: 700 kilos of CO equivalent2. “For me, it’s out of the question to burn so much kerosene when cleaner means exist. I chose cycling because I’m passionate about it, but it’s also possible to get to Helsinki by bus and ferry. This is what I did on the way back: it cost me less than 100 euros,” testifies this young graduate of Essec.
