Maybe it was because I was a bit melancholic anyway because of a personal story. Or the fact that I had just come from the wondrous current exhibition in the House of World Cultures, which thoughtfully nudged me out of the gently lit rooms into the winter air. But I was walking on the sidewalk and suddenly the images I never saw hit me.
