As Day.Az reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Operating Company of COP29, tickets to the COP29 Green Zone, which will be open to the general public, can be purchased online for free.
As is known, in addition to the COP29 Blue Zone, which is managed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and is the center of official negotiations, there will also be a Green Zone. This zone is organized and managed by the COP29 Presidency and focuses on community participation, technology solutions and global cooperation.
the Greenbelt program includes a number of initiatives and discussions on sustainability and climate action in various areas, including greater participation of youth, as well as women and indigenous communities in advancing climate solutions. In addition, the Green Zone also promotes increased cooperation between non-governmental organizations, as well as between companies and higher education institutions for the sake of sustainable development.
Tickets for the Green Zone, open to those who want to get up close and personal with climate action, will be available for free electronic purchase through the iTicket platform. Taking into account the principles of sustainable development of the conference, electronic tickets do not need to be printed and presented on paper.
Given the strong interest in the COP29 Green Zone, these tickets must be purchased separately for each day and for different time slots on those days throughout the duration of the conference. Tickets will be sold two days in advance for each subsequent day.

Interview: Exploring COP29’s Green Zone with Expert Dr. Layla Hasan
Time.news Editor: Welcome, Dr. Layla Hasan! Thank you for joining us to discuss the upcoming COP29 conference and the exciting opportunities within the Green Zone.
Dr. Layla Hasan: Thank you for having me! I’m thrilled to discuss COP29, especially the Green Zone, which plays a crucial role in engaging the public.
Time.news Editor: Absolutely! Let’s dive right in. The tickets for the COP29 Green Zone will be available starting November 9. Can you explain what the Green Zone is and why it’s significant?
Dr. Layla Hasan: The Green Zone acts as a vibrant space during the COP29 conference designed for the general public. While the Blue Zone is strictly for official negotiations under the UNFCCC, the Green Zone emphasizes community engagement and showcases innovative solutions to climate issues. It’s a place where attendees can learn, share ideas, and participate in discussions.
Time.news Editor: Sounds incredibly impactful! Can you tell us what kind of events or activities attendees can expect in the Green Zone?
Dr. Layla Hasan: Certainly! The Green Zone will host a variety of activities, including workshops, panel discussions, and exhibitions focused on sustainable technologies and community projects. There will be opportunities to interact with experts, activists, and innovators who are working toward practical solutions to climate change.
Time.news Editor: That sounds fantastic! I understand that the tickets are free and can be purchased online. What does this accessibility mean for the general public, especially in light of climate activism?
Dr. Layla Hasan: Free and online ticketing significantly lowers barriers to entry, allowing more people to participate in critical conversations about climate change. It encourages broader representation—from students and educators to grassroots activists—who can all contribute their insights and experiences. This inclusivity reinforces the message that tackling climate change is a collective effort.
Time.news Editor: Inclusivity is key. In your opinion, what are some of the most important topics that the Green Zone should focus on during COP29?
Dr. Layla Hasan: I think it’s vital to address renewable energy solutions, sustainable agriculture, and the role of technology in climate mitigation. Additionally, engaging youth voices and indigenous perspectives is crucial because these groups often lead the charge in innovative climate solutions.
Time.news Editor: That’s an excellent point. How do you envision the outcome of such a participatory approach, particularly in shaping future climate policies?
Dr. Layla Hasan: Engaging the public in these discussions can create a ripple effect. It empowers individuals to advocate for change within their communities and influences policymakers by highlighting grassroots initiatives that work. This can lead to more robust, informed climate policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of diverse populations.
Time.news Editor: As we approach the opening of the Green Zone, what advice would you give to prospective attendees?
Dr. Layla Hasan: I encourage everyone to come prepared with questions and an open mind. Take advantage of the networking opportunities and learn from both the sessions and the people around you. Most importantly, remember that every voice matters in the climate dialogue.
Time.news Editor: Wise words! Thank you, Dr. Hasan, for sharing your insights. We look forward to seeing how COP29 unfolds, especially in the Green Zone, and we hope for a successful and enlightening experience for all attendees.
Dr. Layla Hasan: Thank you for the opportunity! I’m eager to see the impact of this gathering on climate action as well.
Time.news Editor: Until next time!
