When will the ODI World Cup start, the ICC has announced the possible date

by time news

Although T20 is the most crowded cricket, the ODI format of the World Cup creates the most frenzy among the fans. India is the sole organizer of the ODI World Cup held this year.

It is already known that the World Cup will start in October and end in November. But the start and end dates were unknown until now. Now the organizing board has announced a possible date for the start of the BCCI World Cup. At the same time, the possible date of the World Cup final has also been announced.

The World Cup may start on October 5. The probable date for the final is November 19. In other words, the 10-team ODI World Cup will start on October 5 and end on November 19. The final match will be held at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. The World Cup matches will be held in a total of 12 cities in India.

While possible dates have been announced, the schedule for the World Cup has yet to be finalized. By looking at the start and end dates, it is understood that this most crowded cricket competition will be held for 46 days. A total of 48 games will be played in the 10-team tournament including three knockout stage matches.

The World Cup matches will be held in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Mumbai. The schedule for which teams will play in which cities is yet to be finalised.

The ICC usually publishes the schedule a year before the World Cup; But this time due to some internal problems of the Indian Cricket Board, the release of the schedule is delayed.

The BCCI has been delayed in getting permission from the central government to host the tournament due to multiple reasons. The main two reasons are competition tax exemption and approval of visa applications for Pakistani cricketers.

The central government had earlier said that the Indian Cricket Board will have to pay 10.92 percent tax on the income from the World Cup. BCCI officials applied for that tax waiver. On the other hand, political complications have implications for India-Pakistan cricket. After 2013, Pakistan teams were not allowed to play on Indian soil except in ICC competitions. The bilateral series is also closed.

BCCI has assured in the ICC meeting last week that Pakistani cricketers can safely come to India to play the World Cup. There will be no problem. The probable dates for the start of the ODI World Cup and the finals were announced only after getting assurances from the Indian Cricket Board. Both these dates are not final yet. The final schedule will be published in a few days.
