Where are you in Sukkot? We are in front of the TV Netflix review

by time news

Yom Kippur also flew by. Again you promised yourself not to overdo it with the food after the fast, and again you got up with heartburn after eating half of the fridge before three stars appeared in the sky.

Even if you followed the custom of fasting and fantasized about sambusk, and especially if you ate and waited for your fasting friends to return to answer you on WhatsApp, there is no doubt that we all need to recover from all of this, until two days from now when we will eat again in commercial quantities, and this time in the sukkah. And how do you recover these days? Netflix of course. ready?

Human Playground: Human Playground

From the dawn of humanity, back in the days of cave life and hunting trips, people choose to make their lives lighter and enjoy their time with games and competitions. When money came into the picture the whole story changed, but from then until today, games have been the only way to achieve respect, prestige and success among the close group, and in the case of the modern world we live in, also far outside of it.

In a new and quite intriguing six-episode docu from the creator of our acquaintances at Netflix, “The Human Playground” gives us a unique glimpse into the way in which the world of play has become so familiar to us, as if it were another evolutionary behavior, and allows us to understand how this tradition became a story that rolls mountains of Money and when the ritual was replaced by many other interests.

If you’re not convinced by now, here’s what’s sure to close the deal: remember the deep voice of movie actor Idris Elba, which must have been playing in your head from the moment you read his name? So he accompanies this excellent series with his voice, which has already won the sixth place in the list of the most loved series in our tiny country during the week.

Lou: Lou

I don’t know if you are one of those who sleep in the sukkah next to your house for the holidays, but if so – wait a bit with the next movie until the second you go back to sleep at home, you will thank me. In the thriller before us, everything seems seemingly innocent, except for a mother and daughter swimming in the middle of a forest. This is the first mistake, because we all know that’s how a scary movie always starts that will definitely not end well.

No spoilers, let’s move on. In a short walk of the two of them outside, they meet a lonely recluse who lives in the forest in Gefa, this after she almost runs over them in her car, and as the well-known saying goes with the weapon in the first act that will shoot in the third, will you meet the recluse again after her daughter is kidnapped from her bed.

In a heroic journey, they are going to team up and chase the one who kidnapped the girl, trying in every way to understand why it happened and what they want from them. After several moments of uncertainty, the lady who lives in the forest will inform the girl’s mother that this abduction really didn’t just happen.

Many times I make sure to mention the fact that there are many versions from a million genres of series and movies, and the really important question is if there was an innovation here, or if you can skip ahead to the next one that will present a similar plot like two channels in Kippur. Here, specifically, I didn’t feel like I was watching something I had already seen, which is an important thing. In summary: exciting just as we, the viewers, were promised, incredibly original, and not expected in any way. Watch the light, maybe fluorescent too.

Disappearance in Lørenskog: The Lørenskog Disappearance

In recent years, a new two-word phrase has been added to our lexicon, which came from the English language at all – fake news, and it means news stories that can sound like something real, only not at all. In a world where a person from the southernmost tip of the United States can launch a complete lie to an Israeli from the Upper Galilee in a matter of seconds, it is understandable how dangerous this piece of fake news is, in connection with the social networks that everyone has everywhere.

In ‘Disappearance in Lorenskog’, a name that is very difficult to say or write, we will understand the enormous importance of truth in publishing news, and especially when the lies become extremely dangerous. It all starts when the wife of a Norwegian billionaire disappears for no apparent reason, which puts the security forces in a round-the-clock race to keep her alive.

When the police hurriedly approach the investigation of the story, they discover that a number of informants are updating with incorrect details from the scene, alongside quite a few journalists who are waiting for any piece of information that will make them the first to bring word of the affair. Apart from the plot sequence of the series, which is built for talismans, viewing is important for anyone who wanted to understand how it feels to stand with one’s finger on the dam, and how difficult it is to hold it there when the whole world is looking for answers.

Pokémon – Master Journeys: Pokémon – Master Journeys

Was a bit tense, the current list, I admit. Apparently, Netflix is aware that we are stuck at home between holiday dinner and coffee and honey cake, and they are trying to force us out of the dark and the swampy couches. So let’s do a moment of phase change that will do our hearts good and give us a few minutes of pleasure, from those days of old that were much less complex. And when they say once, they mean Pokemon.

So Ash Ketchum, the undisputed Pokemon catcher who stayed the same age while we grew up and started paying bills, embarks on another journey with his yellow friend Pikachu on his way to catch the exotic Pokemon waiting for them across the sea.

Cute creatures? Got, piles of nostalgia? Is there an option to watch with the whole family and not wait for the kids or nephews to go to bed after the holiday sugar piles? Definitely yes. Sounds like the whole pot, and even a great opportunity to bond with your young relatives. Between us, it’s fun to watch this series even alone, and you can totally admit it as a genius.

On matchmaking and divorce: Plan A Plan B

We reached the part where we discuss the intricacies of the Netflix piece which, although it tried very hard, but it didn’t help, and this time – in spoken Indian. ‘On Matchmaking and Divorce’, a type of romantic comedy that desperately tries to be American, a young girl who works as a matchmaker starts working next door to a divorce law firm. Apparently, this is an excellent story, even for a series, and there is a great chance that it would have worked in Israel.

As you probably understood, after the great rivalry between the young woman and the lawyer in the office next door, which manifests itself, of course, in mutual bites and imaginary pulling of the braid, their love story begins to be written, which is met with mutual denials from both parties. You didn’t fall off your chair, I guess.

There is a clear attempt by the creators to walk between the drops, which ended in slipping on the pavement and working on everyone who even tied the laces. ‘On Matchmaking and Divorce’ fails to be as American as it had hoped, fails to preserve the rich Indian culture that has added so many Indian films to the cinema lexicon, and mostly falls into the pit of a good idea, a bad script, and a trite execution like ending the Yom Kippur fast with a cake. You don’t have to go for the Obeys, you can also Oreo covered in white chocolate, or in our case – more sarcastic and unexpected, less nineties jokes.
