The Metropolitan Region is being affected by a cloud of smoke during the afternoon from this mondaydue to a forest fire.

According to Senapred, the smoke comes from an accident registered in the commune of Paine, which is why it declared a Yellow Alert.

The forest fire is located in the Águila Sur sector and so far it consumes three hectaresso Conaf allocated a series of resources to combat the flames.

“With the declaration of the Yellow Alert, the necessary resources will be prepared in stages, in additional support to what has already been deployed by Conaf, Firefighters and the National Disaster Prevention and Response System; to intervene according to the evolution of the event, in order to prevent it from growing in extent and severity, minimizing the negative effects on people, their property and the environment,” Senapred pointed out.
