A team of Airports Authority of India officials after examining the locations of Pannur in Kanchipuram district and Pannur in Tiruvallur district for establishing a new airport in the suburbs near Chennai chose the ideal locations for establishing the airport.

In this case, the DMK MP said about the location of the airport. VK Singh has answered the question raised by Kanimozhi Somu in the Rajya Sabha that there is a plan to construct an airport at Parantur.
