The story is like a bad remake of the movie “Mom, I Missed the Plane!” “. In the United States, a six-year-old child, who was traveling unaccompanied, was placed on the wrong plane by the company in charge of him, reports the television channel Wink News. A few days before the holidays, he found himself 250 km from his family.

Last Thursday, Casper was scheduled to leave Philadelphia and fly for the first time to join his family for Christmas. If everything had gone smoothly, the little boy should have landed at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers.

Except that upon arrival, his grandmother Maria Ramos, who was supposed to welcome him, found no trace of Casper. Only his travel bag had arrived safely. The child was then at the Orlando International Airport, located more than 250 km north of the Fort Myers airport…

Four hours drive

But at that time, the grandmother didn’t know it yet, and logically she was worried. “They told me: No, he’s not on this flight. He missed his flight. I said, No, he couldn’t have missed his flight because I have the check-in tag,” she tells Wink News. “I ran inside the plane to the flight attendant and asked her: Where is my grandson? Was it given to you in Philadelphia? She said: No, I didn’t have any children with me. »

Then came relief, and then anger, when Maria received a phone call informing her that her grandson was simply at another airport. She then drove the four hours from Orlando to find Casper. Spirit Airlines, the company in charge of the boy, offered to reimburse him for the fare.

But Maria wants, above all, explanations. “Let me know how my grandson ended up in Orlando.” How did it happen ? Did they take him off the plane? Did the flight attendant let him go alone, only to have him jump on the wrong plane? », she got annoyed.

Confused, the airline apologized, saying “the child was still under the care and supervision of a Spirit team member.” “We take the safety and responsibility of transportation of all our guests seriously and are conducting an internal investigation. We apologize to the family for this experience,” wrote airline spokesperson Michael Lopardi.
