Where is the Cannes Film Festival going?

After two years of crisis, this is the year of relaunch for the Cannes Film Festival which will celebrate its 75e anniversary in May (from May 17 to 28). In 2020, it did not take place on site, but was labeled, and last year it was postponed to July after confinement. Enough to give renewed optimism to Pierre Lescure, its president, whose last term it is, and to Thierry Frémaux, its general delegate, who underlines that “the cinematographic language industry has started again”. The latter is now benefiting from a boom in production and distribution amplified by the platforms Netflix, Disney+, Amazon, Apple TV+ which have become a serious competitor for cinemas.
