According to the Chennai Meteorological Department, the depression in the Bay of Bengal will intensify into a deep depression. Due to this, heavy showers are expected in Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagaon, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore and Villupuram districts on Saturday.
Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai and Nagai districts will experience strong winds of up to 45 kmph on March 6 and 7. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the southwestern Bay of Bengal, the Midwest Bay of Bengal and the Gulf of Mannar as winds of up to 65 km are possible in the Bay of Bengal.
