The French health system is “on the verge of collapse”, warned the British daily The Guardian in June 2019. An observation made before the health crisis, which only reinforced the concerns of the French on this subject.
According to a study commissioned by the Mutualité française at the start of 2022, after two years of uncertainty linked to the pandemic, health is indeed one of the main sources of concern for more than two out of three French people.
The fact remains that before studying the candidates’ proposals, it may be interesting to compare the data concerning health in France with that of its neighbors in the European Union. International mail has therefore studied those listed by theOECD for France, Germany, Denmark, Italy and Poland.
The criteria observed? Health expenditure as a percentage of STARTthe evolution of the number of hospital beds, the number of doctors per 1,000 inhabitants, out-of-pocket expenses, the population’s satisfaction with the availability of care and unmet medical needs during the pandemic.
