I say (I think it is a widely shared opinion) that it is time for the Government to tell us, first, the total amount of money that has effectively arrived in Spain within the framework of the funds of the Recovery Plan, approved and launched by the European Union (EU) a few years ago.
After knowing the “money” that has arrived, from what was initially announced with great fanfare by Pedro Sánchez, the time has come to ask about the distribution and distribution of that money between the public and private sectors, as well as the distribution by autonomous communities.
Next, when we are ready to ask, they could tell us from La Moncloa, the Ministry of Economy or the Ministry of Finance, which sectors of our economy have benefited.
And thus we would reach the last link in the chain, the final recipient, whether it is a company or a self-employed person in the private sector or an institution or organization in the case of the public. And now I need a little more, because I would like to know the public companies that have benefited from this “European manna” and how much.
And I do not notice that the aforementioned funds are reaching the productive economy or at street level, company or self-employed. And it’s been a while.
I remember that the three basic objectives of that recovery fund were, expressed in a very popular way, the improvement of the health supply chain, so that we do not find ourselves again without masks or without respirators, to give just a few examples of what it happened in March and in the following months of 2020; secondly, what we could call the digitalization of the economy through the incorporation of new technologies; finally, the entire environmental, green and fight against climate change component.
Expressed this way, practically the majority of companies and the self-employed should be able to benefit from these plans or Pertes, which they say have been launched. However, I insist, I still do not notice it at street level and in business activity. That is why there is no choice but to reiterate the question at the beginning: where is the money and, for that matter, where are the keys to that money?
