The scope of this project will cover all health establishments belonging to the Ministry of Public Health (MSP). This means that the proposed actions will be implemented in each of these establishments, with the aim of reaching the entire Ecuadorian population. According to the figures corresponding to the year 2022, this population amounts to a total of 18,049,717 inhabitants.
To carry out an initial evaluation of the effectiveness of the proposed measures, a pilot test is planned to be carried out in October 2023. This pilot test will be carried out in important cities of the three regions of the country, thus allowing to obtain results and valuable feedback for the development of the project at the national level.
Regarding the implementation at the different levels of care, priority will be given to the first level, specifically to type A, B and C health centers distributed nationwide. These centers will be the first to adopt and apply the proposed strategies and actions, allowing an early approach to problems related to mental health and drug use.
In addition, an intermediate level of coordination will be established in each of the 9 zones of Ecuador. At this level, the transmission of knowledge will take place and the main actors of the National Health System will be trained. This coordination will guarantee an effective and uniform implementation of the proposed measures throughout the country.
