The Indiana Pacers host the New York Knicks this Friday (10), at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, in game 3 of the semifinals of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Having finished the regular season as second in the Eastern Conference, the Knicks started the series with two games at home, at Madison Square Garden. In game 1, they beat the Pacers 121 to 117, in a tight contest in the final minutes.
Meanwhile, in game 2, the Indianapolis team opened up a ten-point gap at the end of the second quarter, with 73 to 63. However, the hosts reacted and made a comeback that ended in 130 to 121.
Despite the defeat, the scorer of the match was Pacers shooting guard Tyrese Haliburton, who scored 34 points. Next was Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, with 29 points. Another highlight was Knicks shooting guard Josh Hart, who achieved a double-double by scoring 19 points and collecting 15 rebounds.
Now, the next two games will be played in Indianapolis. If the Knicks win both duels, they will advance to the Eastern Conference final, in which they will face the winner of Boston Celtics x Cleveland Cavaliers.
On the other hand, the Pacers will have the chance to use the home advantage to try to tie the series. In the first phase of the playoffs, the team won all three matches played at home against the Milwaukee Bucks, passing with four wins and two losses.
