Today, September 2, 2024, the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivers a message to the people of Kazakhstan, reports Zakon.kz.
Opening the joint session of the chambers of Parliament, the President congratulated everyone with the opening of the next session and wished them success in their work “for the good of the country!”
“A lot of work was done during the last session. 102 laws were adopted, including laws on public control, combating human trafficking, science and technology policy, thermal power engineering and others. Much attention was paid to social issues, especially the protection of children. A law was adopted providing for payments to children from the National Fund. Administrative liability was introduced for involving minors in gambling. Punishment for any form of violence against minors was toughened. The law on ensuring the safety of children, preventing and suppressing crimes against women and children came into force,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to the president, “it is no secret that many citizens now have several loans – this is an extremely pressing problem, which, without exaggeration, poses a danger to our society.”
“Therefore, special laws were also adopted in this direction. In general, many systemic steps were taken aimed at improving the well-being of the people. You were directly involved in this work, constantly being in direct contact with citizens. All this, of course, makes an important contribution to the implementation of the concept of a “listening state”. I express my gratitude for your fruitful work. However, we cannot be satisfied with what has been achieved – there is still a lot of work ahead,” – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev
