Which clothing is suitable for this?

by time news

Clothing plays an important role in many people’s lives. There are often many demands on the various items of clothing: They should look good and protect against the weather such as cold or rain.
It is also important that the clothing is comfortable, offers a lot of freedom of movement and you feel comfortable in it. Below we give a few clothing tips for the different seasons.

What clothing is suitable for the warm season?

In the warm season it often makes sense to wear breathable clothing. This is able to transport sweat from the body to the outside – this can prevent a strong flow of sweat. Especially if you want to do sports in the summer, you should use clothing made from breathable materials. You should also choose white or at least very light clothing, because lighter colors can reflect the sun’s rays better.
Due to the sun’s rays, you should also use sunscreen regularly in summer and remember to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes and a hat.

When doing outdoor activities in summer, it is also advisable to protect yourself from certain insects – for example ticks, which cling to blades of grass and can be dangerous to people.

It is particularly advantageous to wear long-sleeved clothing when going on excursions to larger meadows or forests. When camping in the evening, you should also make sure to cover all of your skin if possible – because mosquitoes can see every bit of skin that is visible to them.

Cargo pants are also ideal for trips into nature. They were originally designed for the military, but have entered the fashion world since the 90s and are now extremely popular again. In summer, you can wear cargo pants made of microfibers – for example, combined with a breathable T-shirt.

The onion look – ideal for the transitional period

The onion look is ideal, especially for the transitional period. It is also known as the onion skin principle, layered look or layering and is usually made up of three layers, each of which fulfills a specific function.

By combining the different layers, it is possible to adapt the clothing to the respective temperatures and weather throughout the day. In order for this to be successful, it is important to coordinate the individual layers with each other.

The base layer

The base layer is the so-called sweat transport layer. It is also known as a first layer or base layer and is worn directly on the skin.

This layer includes underwear and socks.

The first layer is used to transport sweat away from the body – in this way it is intended to ensure a dry wearing climate and prevent you from starting to freeze due to the moisture. The base layer should be breathable and made of merino wool or synthetic fibers such as polyester or polyamide.

The thermal layer

The second layer is the so-called thermal layer – also called the insulation layer or mid layer. Depending on the outside temperatures, it is made up of one or more layers. Their job is to protect the body from the cold. Fleece jackets, fleece sweaters, long sleeves and synthetic fiber jackets can be considered items of clothing for the mid layer.

Tip: It is advisable to choose two thin items of clothing instead of one thick item. This makes it easier to react to a change in the outside temperature. In addition, you can usually move better in thinner clothing.

The outer layer

The outer layer, also known as the third layer or top layer, is used to protect the body from various weather influences such as wind, rain or snow. Hardshell jackets, for example, are suitable for this, as they are often robust, windproof and waterproof.

Depending on the outside temperature and weather, leather jackets, coats or softshell jackets may be an option.

The right clothing for the winter

In winter, just like in the transitional period, you can use the onion principle very well. It’s a good idea to put on thermal underwear here – it can prevent possible chafing and help keep the body warm. If you don’t wear long underwear, you can wear tights or leggings under your pants on particularly cold days in winter. A sweater is ideal as a second layer for the top – ideally made of a warm-keeping material such as fleece or wool. Finally comes the jacket. This can be a down jacket or a long coat.

It is also important to choose the right shoes and accessories for the cold season. When it comes to shoes, you should choose waterproof models. They prevent your feet from getting wet, even when walking through snow or rain. In icy temperatures you shouldn’t go without gloves or a hat. If necessary, a scarf is also an advantage – especially if the jacket or coat does not have a high collar. In addition, on very cold days it makes sense to wear several pairs of socks on top of each other. However, you have to be careful not to restrict your feet too much.
