If you are going to buy a new smartphone, then you must pay attention to the display of the phone. Because a bad display can harm your eyes. Also, it can discharge the phone’s battery quickly. In such a situation, a good smartphone is made only when its display is good. Generally there are four types of displays, which are used in phones.
LCD means Liquid Crystal Display:
This is the most common and cheapest display technology. LCDs have a backlight that illuminates the pixels, while LED displays are thinner and lighter, consuming less power. But LCD display has less contrast. Meaning black is not perfect black, while white is not bright. Also, refresh rate issue is seen in these displays. It has a 60Hz refresh rate, which provides great enjoyment of scrolling and animation.
OLED i.e. Organic Light Emitting Diode
Every pixel in an OLED display generates light. Meaning OLED displays come in better contrast, perfect black and brighter white color options than LCD displays. OLED displays are thinner, lighter and more flexible.
AMOLED i.e. Active Matrix OLED
AMOLED display is a type of OLED display. It has better response time and less power consumption. AMOLED display is used in smartphones with high refresh rate.
MicroLED
This is a new display technology, which is similar to OLED. But in this many small LEDs are used for each pixel. The Micro LED display offers excellent contrast, brightness and viewing angles.
