The Chennai Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of rain in 19 districts in the next 3 hours.
Cyclone Mantus, which has formed in the Bay of Bengal, is 700 km from Chennai. It is moving away. Due to this, a heavy rain warning has been issued for North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh districts for the next 2 days.
In this case, till 10 am, 19 districts namely Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Trichy, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Sivagangai, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore and Nilgiris have been warned of moderate rain.
Cyclone Mandus, centered in the Bay of Bengal, is expected to make landfall between Puducherry-Sriharikota tomorrow night, with a maximum speed of 80 km. It is also predicted that strong winds may blow.
