Which Indian has this record; King Kohli with the number of records
The India-South Africa T20 series produced a barrage of records. Although many records have been set, fans are celebrating former Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s record breaking record.
Kohli became the first Indian batsman to complete 11,000 runs in the T20 format. The player acquired this rare record from 354 matches.
Making the record doubly sweet is the fact that Kohli, who has been playing for the past 12 years but only scored his maiden T20 century last month, is the first Indian to achieve the feat.
Many T20 specialist batsmen have come and gone during this period, but many players have played more T20 matches than Virat, yet none have crossed this milestone.
Apart from this, the player also showed his selflessness on the field. With his personal score standing at 49, Dinesh Karthik was asked to bat by denying the strike.
Finally, India scored 237 runs for three wickets in 20 overs and Virat remained unbeaten on 49 runs from 28 balls at one end of the pitch.
KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav’s firework performance led India to a huge score. Rahul scored 57 runs from 28 balls while Suryakumar scored 61 runs from 22 balls.
Apart from this, captain Rohit Sharma scored 43 runs from 37 balls while Dinesh Karthik, who played the role of the finisher, scored 17 runs from seven balls.
Only Keshav Maharaj bowled better in South Africa. Maharaj, who bowled four overs, conceded only 23 runs and took two wickets.
Batting in reply, the Proteas lost three wickets before adding fifty runs to the scoreboard. South Africa are currently 49 for three in seven overs. Arshdeep took two wickets and Axar Patel took one wicket.
