jpnn.comJAKARTA – Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan admitted that he received many suggestions for him to join a political party.

He expressed this on his official YouTube channel with the title “Anies’ Notes Post-Presidential Election and 2024 Regional Election Registration”.

“Someone suggested that I join a party or create a political party,” said Anies, Friday (30/8).

However, Anies is reluctant to join a political party because he believes that almost all of them are held hostage by power.

“If you join a party, the question is, which party is not currently held hostage by power?” he asked.

The former Governor of DKI Jakarta also said that he had already been threatened and blocked even when he was just nominated, let alone joining a party.

“Let alone entering, just nominating is threatened. It’s also a bit risky for those who propose, so this is a reality,” said Anies.

Rather than joining a political party, Anies opened up the possibility that he would establish a political party.
