The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) conducted a study to find out which positions are experiencing an oversupply of applicants and which positions are experiencing a demand for workers.

During the period from January to March 2024:

The supply-to-demand ratio (that is, the ratio between the number of people wanting to work and the number of vacant positions) fell to 2.4 (compared to 3.1 in the previous quarter).

The highest demand for workers is observed among residential builders, masons, stone cutters and grinders, plasterers, concrete pourers, reinforcement workers and tile layers – 10 vacant positions for 6 applicants (supply to demand ratio: 0.6).

The areas with a surplus of applicants include production managers and managers in professional services, science and technology professionals, business and management professionals, legal, social and cultural professionals, and clerks and typists. In these areas, the number of applicants was four times higher than the number of vacancies.

Thus, statistics have shown that work on a construction site is much more in demand than office work in management positions.

Cursor also reported that the Central Bureau of Statistics presented its third estimate for the first quarter of the year, demonstrating impressive results of economic growth in Israel. According to the data, the country’s GDP showed an annual increase of 14.4% and a quarterly increase of 3.4%. These figures indicate a significant strengthening of the economy at the beginning of the year.

In addition, GDP per capita increased by 12.6% year-on-year and 3.0% quarter-on-quarter, highlighting the rising standard of living and welfare of citizens.

Particularly impressive are the annual GDP growth figures of 21.4%, with quarterly growth of 5.0%. These figures reflect positive changes in the Israeli economy and indicate successful overcoming of various economic difficulties.

Private consumption also showed significant growth, increasing by 26.7% year-on-year and 6.1% quarter-on-quarter, indicating increased consumer confidence and spending, which plays an important role in the country’s economic development.

Government consumption also showed growth, registering an increase of 7.7% year-on-year and 1.9% quarter-on-quarter. These data show an increase in government spending aimed at supporting the economy and ensuring the well-being of citizens.
