Who are the five women seeking the mayoralty of Chinautla?

Five women seek to become mayor of Chinautla, including Brenda Elizabeth del Cid Medrano, current mayor. The candidates are from the parties: PAN, Cabal, Nosotros, Vamos and Todos, according to the records of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE).

According to the TSE, until April 20, 2023, there are 19 candidates for mayor of that municipality, of the 20 that requested to be registered, that is, two more than the previous process (2019) when 17 applicants registered.

In that period (2019) the women who participated were two: Brenda Elizabeth del Cid Medrano (she ran for the National Unity of Hope) and Cristina Razón (she ran for Encuentro por Guatemala).

• He is running for the Vamos Party
• Del Cid Medrano is the niece of former mayor Arnoldo Medrano accused in several corruption cases, he was convicted in 2020.
• He has run for the National Unity of Hope (UNE) and the defunct Líder party
• Add two consecutive periods in the mayor’s office of Chinautla

2. Glenda Amaryllis Salvador Canel

• He is running for the PAN Party

3. Maria Elizabeth Mijangos Solares

• He is running for the All Party

4. Vilma Empress Rizzo Hernandez

• He is running for the We Party
• Degree in Legal and Social Sciences
• Legal adviser and analyst in different institutions
• He worked in the ministries of Development, the Interior, Health, Culture and Sports, General Directorate of Arms and Ammunition Control
