AR Rahman says remix culture is distorting songs. He also said that the intention of the music director who made the song for the first time is getting perverted. His response was in an interview given to India Today.

“The more I look at it, the more distorted it becomes. The intention of the music director who created the song is also getting distorted. People say it’s reimagining. Who are you to rethink? I am very careful when taking songs that someone else has done. You should approach it with great respect. We had a Telugu music program the other day. Then the producers said that all the songs you (Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman) have done still sound very fresh. Because it was digitally mastered. Those songs are still great. Everyone likes it”, said Rahman.

Ponniyin Selvan is releasing on September 30. Ponniyin Selvan is a Brahmanda film produced by Mani Ratnam based on the world famous historical novel by the legendary writer Kalki. The film will be released in two parts. All the released songs of the film have already received attention.
