The World Health Organization wants China’s government to provide information about an outbreak of pneumonia in children. Cases recur in cities hundreds of kilometers away. According to the report from the International Infectious Disease Monitoring Body, it is not yet known when the outbreak began, but the probability is that the virus has already spread to several regions of Chinese territory. The outbreak may be linked to the bacteria Mycoplasma pneumoniae, also known as walking pneumonia. Infected children need to be hospitalized for between seven and 14 days.
