WHO chief in Syria: Medicines and essentials to be delivered to earthquake victims

Earthquake: World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus visited Aleppo, Syria, where the earthquake caused heavy damage, local media reported. The WHO chief’s visit comes five days after an earthquake rocked Turkey and Syria.

It is reported that Ghebreyesus, along with the country’s health minister and the governor of Aleppo, will visit hospitals and relief camps in the disaster-stricken area. He said that emergency medical services provided by WHO will continue and more medicines and other essential supplies will reach Syria soon.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the earthquake has crossed 2,4000. A 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria on Monday
