I’m sitting with my ex-husband in a well-known Berlin grill restaurant, it’s the run-up to Christmas 2023; December 23rd would have been our 12th wedding anniversary. The nickel wedding. Well, I have a nickel allergy and we got divorced last year.
The ex-husband studies the card and thinks about what could be written about Christmas and sex. I think so, I proclaim the thesis I just put forward, that Christmas is the time of year when people have the least sex. Most of them have family programs, many have stress, some have arguments, at least a few things on the agenda: tree, roast, giving presents. Nobody has any head space for physical things. However, a quick search reveals something astonishing: most children are born in September. The ex’s birthday is also on September 25th. So it could easily have been conceived for Christmas.
