Previously, he had led the Army Logistics Command for a few months, which he joined after commanding the Southern Operational Forces Command, reporting directly to the Army Chief of Staff. Previously, he had been commander of the Southern Interregional Defense Forces in Naples. Among the assignments abroad, the role of deputy commander of the Italian contingent in Iraq stands out, followed by the command of the mechanized “Sassari” Brigade. Between 2007 and 2011, with Arturo Parisi e Ignazio La Russa, was Deputy Chief of Staff of the Minister of Defense. THE ROLE
He will now be the prime minister’s military adviser Mario Draghi, who had already appointed the ambassador as diplomatic adviser in February Luigi Mattiolo. General De Leverano will have the task of leading the office of the military adviser, called to assist the president in his activities for relations with the bodies that provide for national defense and, within the presidency of the Council of Ministers, also for matters connected with space policy.
