DIG/ Appointed on September 9, 2023 as Minister of Economy and Participations in the Transitional Government, economic analyst Mays Mouissi, has made himself better known in the eyes of the Gabonese public through his relevant interventions on major French public channels .

But what do we really know about this young “crack”?

Graduated from the University of Paris-I Panthéon Sorbonne (France), the young 37-year-old minister from the province of Ngounié (Punu-Nzébi) has a wealth of experience in carrying out socio-economic studies.

It was also as principal researcher that he directed the work of the 5th review of integrity indicators, for the American organization Global Integrity in Gabon.

In Paris, he held the position of Group Ethics and Compliance Manager within Carrefour with a scope covering 8 integrated countries and around thirty franchised countries.

Previously, he worked for the companies BforBank, Crédit Agricole Assurances, BNP Paribas and the Parisian consulting firm Novaminds on behalf of which he notably carried out missions within the SMA Group (leading insurer in the construction sector in France), Imperio Assurances, Crédit coopératif and the postal bank.

At the same time, he runs the Mays Mouissi Consulting firm, specializing in carrying out socio-economic studies and business consulting, which he founded in 2016.

In this context, he has conducted several macroeconomic and sectoral studies, notably on behalf of multinationals in Africa (Totalenergies EP Gabon, Arise, EY, Dalberg, etc.).

Also, it regularly intervenes as a decision-making support with business leaders, mainly in Central Africa. In addition, Mays Mouissi produces economic analysis notes for the American research center Trans-National Research.

Also known for his civic engagement, the new Minister of the Economy published more than 200 economic analysis notes since 2013. He also carried out, in 2016, an audit of the Gabonese electoral file, then a study of the consistency of the results of the contested presidential election of August 27, 2016.

In June 2023, he led the citizen collective which achieved an exhaustive study on the results of the second seven-year term of Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba, ahead of the presidential election of August 26, 2023.
