Who is the prime ministerial candidate of Congress party in 2024 election? – Mallikarjuna Karke Answer | Mallikarjun Kharge on the prime ministerial candidate for 2024

Delhi: Senior leader Mallikarjuna Kharge has given an answer to the question about who will be the prime ministerial candidate of the Congress party in 2024.

The election for the post of Congress party president will be held on October 17. The votes will be counted and the results will be announced on October 19. Mallikarjuna Kharge, Thiruvananthapuram MP and senior party leader Sasi Tharoor have filed to contest the elections. Their nominations have been accepted. Both have started campaigning in each state.

After campaigning among party members in Madhya Pradesh, Mallikarjun Kharge faced a question about the Congress party’s prime ministerial candidate for 2024. Mallikarjun Kharge was asked if he would stand as the prime ministerial candidate against Rahul Gandhi if elected as the next Congress president.

Kharge replied, “There is still a long time to answer that. Let’s deal with this election first. There is a saying that if a goat survives Bakrit, it will dance during Muharram. And so it is. Let this election be over first. I will take over as president. Then we will see about it.” He managed that.

The 80-year-old Kharge is said to be almost certain to win the election for Congress president. Known to be close to the Gandhi family, he entered the leadership race very late. It is said in the party circles that he has been fielded in the election due to the insistence of the Gandhi family.

However, it is noteworthy that Kharge had said a few days earlier that “No one from the Gandhi family is ready to lead the party, so I have agreed to contest the presidential election. Both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have said that the party election will be conducted in a democratic manner.”
