New Delhi: Former India all-rounder Dodda Ganesh has been appointed as the head coach of the Kenya cricket team. The Kenyan team has entrusted this former Indian team with a big responsibility ahead of the Africa qualifiers of the 2026 T20 World Cup. 51-year-old Ganesh, who played four Tests and one ODI for India, scored more than 2000 runs and took 365 wickets for Karnataka in first-class cricket. He has the tough challenge of bringing back the glorious days of Kenyan cricket when the team participated in five World Cups between 1996 and 2011.
The best performance of this Associate Member of International Cricket Council country was in 2003 when they reached the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup held in South Africa under an Indian head coach in the form of Sandeep Patil. 2026 T20 World Cup will be held in India and Sri Lanka
